Do you get up at the crack of dawn to go to the gym or walk the dog? Do the kids bug you to go to the park every day? Do you sometimes go to the corner store for milk on a wee bit of a hangover? Find yourself rinkside regularly? Does heading out in the cold for Sunday brunch pain you? Or is your work dress code "super" casual?
I have to admit I used to "hate" the Classic Ugg. I could not understand how it became an essential part of our North American wardrobe. Then I saw them on every celebrity alive and realized how this came to be. That whole cultural phenomenon aside, I finally caved and slid my foot into a pair of Classic Uggs....NEVER to go back! I had once sworn up and down they would never grace the heel boy shelves, but I was even more adamant that they would never go anywhere near my feet. Now I can laugh and admit that my closet will never again be without them. I still maintain they are not for fashion. If you have a beautiful outfit and coat on, these are not the boots to complete your look. However if you do any of the activities above or find yourself frequently craving cozy, then (I hate to admit) there is absolutely nothing like the Classic Ugg collection. They originate from the warm beaches of Australia, so as much as we need/want them for cozy they can be worn year round especially if you find yourself spending cool evenings up north. In recent years UGG have released several new styles with some cute additions; fur, bows etc.[caption id="attachment_882" align="aligncenter" width="300" class=" "] Carter Chestnut $225[/caption] [caption id="attachment_883" align="aligncenter" width="300" class=" "] Bailey Bow Grey $245[/caption]
For Canadians, cozy is on the menu, now and for the next few months. I promise you will be thrilled with a pair of Classic Uggs in your closet and on your feet. If you are still opposed, as I once was, here are some lovely options. They might seem a bit steep for a winter boot but are well worth the money. Your Classic Uggs will last; amortized over the years they will seem like a real deal.[caption id="attachment_884" align="aligncenter" width="300" class=" "] Adirondack Tall Black $398[/caption] [caption id="attachment_885" align="aligncenter" width="300" class=" "] Adirondack II Otter $285.[/caption]
And finally on the subject ... there is one item that I can not live without (and nor can anyone I give them to) and that is the Ugg slipper. Men and women love them equally, making them a perfect Christmas present. Again, a bit of a higher price point but they last forever and will keep your feet very happy indoors. With their rubber soles, they can also be worn outside if need be to take out the garbage...urgh! All to say, the Classic Uggs category should not be overlooked.[caption id="attachment_886" align="aligncenter" width="300" class=" "] Ansley Chestnut $125[/caption]
Wishing you happy, warm, comfy feet, this and every season.
