Frye is one of those iconic shoemakers that our customers have been asking us about for years. The conversation often begins with a question about whether or not we carry them, and is usually followed by a story about their exceptional quality. Many people still have their very first pair, or have even inherited a pair from a friend or family member that is still going strong. We are happy to announce that at long last, you can get your Frye boots at all four of our heel boy locations, with selected styles from both the men’s and women’s collections.
John A. Frye began making his boots in Marlborough, Massachusetts in 1863 with the objective of providing quality footwear to everyday working folks. Quickly recognized for their durability and comfort, these boots were adopted by New Englanders and soon gained popularity across the United States; farmers, pioneers and cowboys all loved Frye boots. In the early 20th Century, the company even provided custom-made boots for American servicemen via mail order. Today quality is still paramount; only the highest quality leathers are used, all of which are tanned with natural oils. It takes over 190 steps to complete a single pair of Frye boots ensuring no detail is overlooked.
Today, Frye boots are not only durable and comfortable they are also highly fashionable. That age-old problem of finding a pair of shoes that look great, but don’t traumatize your feet is instantly solved in Frye. One of Frye’s most instantly recognizable styles is the Engineer 12R, or the similar but slightly shorter Engineer 8R.[caption id="attachment_851" align="aligncenter" width="300" class=" "] Engineer 12R $318.[/caption]
